The reason I started to study English.

I was seven-teen years old when I watched the TV show called "Emergency Room" for the first time. Obviously, I didn't understand what people were saying without Japanese subtitles. And I found the textbook for a radio English program at a bookstore so I could start studying English again.

Sometime I regret that I didn't try to speak English with the radio programs, since my English conversation skills could be better if I did. The teacher of the programs for introductory was named "Ken Toyama" and he was a professor at a famous college. Please visit his web site.

http://www.kentoyama.com/tindex.html

The style of his lessons was great because he had a policy of being willing to speak with cheerfulness and pleasantness. We learned colloquial expressions so we don't have to focus on grammar in the lessons and he said the same phrase at the end of every lesson. "Keep listening, keep practicing and keep on smiling!!"

After a year, the next one I chose the was "Osugi Masayuki English Radio Programs" His lessons had adolescent drama stories. One of the stories that I liked was about a high school student who did like himself, who was in love with a girl who worked at a restaurant and whose parents were in the middle of a divorce. In the story, we could learn about the many troubles in his life. This story was very popular with women listeners and it was published because of popular request. I want to recommend it to everyone. Can you access the site below?

I was listening to this radio program for three years. A good thing about Radio English programs was how we needed to listen to them at a specific time everyday. We wouldn't be able to ever hear it if we missed the time it aired. I used a cassette recorder to record them but it had no timer. At the time, we couldn't use the Internet or ipods so now is a good age for learner. Because we can listen to English programs with these tools wherever we go.

The reason I started to study English.

In Japan, it is common for students in junior high schools to study English. But I was not interested in it then; I don't know the reason why. I thought my test results of English was usually and average score, it was not good, but it was not bad. In my third year of high school, my feelings towards English started to change after I saw a TV drama about a doctor treating some patients.

I was fascinated by his impressive performance, and I wanted to know about this program. This program, as you know, is called ER (Emergency Room). I went to a video rental store and rented the entire series. There's something about this program that's always good, even when I watch it now, eleven years later. I'm able to discover new things when I watch it again from the first season, even though I already know the whole story.

Each actor has a convincing motivation on this program, and I feel that somehow start to act like an ER doctor when I watch it. So after watching ER, I became interested in meeting foreign people.

Do I need to try to use an Online English Conversation system? Case 2

When I was a high school student, I only read English newspaper and listened to English radio programs. Consequently, I could understand what an American was saying but I could not say what I wanted to when I worked with an American for the first time.

I was shocked because I had studied English for such a long time and I wasn't good at communicating with Americans. I finally able to notice that I wasn't training myself how to speak. I looked for the best way to improve my English speaking skills. At first, I was thinking about going abroad but I didn't have enough money. But finally, I found an online English service. I spoke in English for an hour every day with a Filipino English teacher but I don't remember what we talked about for our first lesson. Because of teachers who gave clear and detailed explanations in English to me.

The only thing is that almost all the Filipino English teachers were female. Sometime I just wanted to speak to a male teacher about one topic that only a man can understand (or that only a man can relate to) because the teachers and I spoke about a love story.

Because of a year of English training, I think my conversational skills are at an intermediate level. I wrote this article and think I want to try this new online service.

Do I need to try to use an Online English Conversation system? Case 1

When I was a high school student, I only read English newspapers and listened English radio programs. Consequently, I could understand what native speakers said but could say what I wanted when I worked with Native Americans for the first time. I was shocked because I had studied English for such a long time and I still wasn't good witch communicating with Native Americans. I'm finally able to realize it was because I hadn't trained myself to speak yet. So I looked for the best way to improve my English speaking skill.

At first, I was thinking about going abroad but I don’t have any money. And then I finally found an online English service. I spoke in English for an hour every day with a Philippine English teacher and I don't remember what I talked about in our first lesson. Because the teacher game me clear and detailed explanations in English.

The only thing that I would change is how almost all of my English teachers have been female. Sometime I wanted to speak with a male teacher about one topic, which only men could talk about. Because the teachers and I talked about a love story.

Thanks to that year of training. I think my conversation skills have risen to an intermediate level.

Japan's swine flu deaths reach 100 after elderly Kyoto man dies.

The mixed information of the swine flu epidemic is still being spread in Japan, it seemed to have tempered but it has been spreading at the heat of children. We have to deal with this situation without panicking and know that people can completely recover if they get vaccinated.

But I worry about those children who have swine flu now. Because they're not able to go to school and some pupils try to bully them. So, children can't enjoy school, and this is because other children bully them and they become truant. In current case, a lot of children are fragile and it's not easy to get rid of their self if they have been bruised.

I want to suggest to their teachers and parents that they further support those children.

Government to slash funding for toll-free expressway plan

We are all distrubed by the government's decision to cut budget in this manner. In the U.S and some European countries, the toll-free expressway system have been in place since a long time ago. Some Japanese people are agaist the idea as land prices are high, and it also means that freeways are just as expensive to build. truth is, it could actually be chaeper.

Unfortunately, unexamined plans for the construction of expressways had been given silent approval by the government. Diet members were trying to persuade local voters and get the public project. They belived that the construction ofthe highway should be given priority.

A lot of unnecessary expressways were built, expecially where Diet members lived. So I'm angry because only Diet members are able to choose the locations where expressways are to be constructed.

Interesting client from Tokyo.

I bought a calorie mate from a convenience store.

http://www.otsuka.co.jp/cmt/

I would alwasy eat it after volleyball games when I was in junir high school and high school. And I remember that I ate it withuot games, too. Before our only choice was a kind of salad and cheese flavor but now we can choose between chocolate and maple flavor, too. I recommened these new flavors because they have a good nutritional balance.

Anyway, we had a meeting with new client who came from Tokyo to our office yesterday. The meeting was over six hour long. After the meeting, we had drinks at "kaiseki restraunt".

Our client is very talkative because he used to be a comedian, but he never became a celebrity. After quit his job as a comedian he started working at ANA (All Nippon Airway Inc, as a sales representative for a long time.

At last he started his own business hosting wedding ceremonies and introducing people to employment agencies. He is a representative of his company. We were caught up in his wedding story, about what charges his customers.

Karuizawa Readings (Recital)

Last week, my company's president asked me if I was interested in going to hear the readings that will take place in Karuizawa Nagano. I asked him what the topic would be. And he said that it's about a forbidden love story. I felt taht I could not go there with male friends. Actually, readings were much more sentimental that I had anticipated. One of readers was a famous voice actor who is popular for his role in Japanese anime "Lupin the Third". I enjyoyed it so much, I couldn't seep that night. What is true love? Should I be thinking about it once again?

Surprised customer!!

I had a meeting with a customer in Akasaka in Tokyo last week. In Akasaka, there are good places such as the Japan Paliament building, Tokyo Broad casting system, Inc and Akasaka Sacas. I feel that it looks like Lodon. The meeting took almost two hours and the customer was Native American so I need to talk with him English.
His name is Tim-san, and he taught English in Shinano-town which is my birthplace and where I had lived when I was child. What surprised me most was how his wife is from Saku city wher I'm living now. He was so kind and let me talk. During the two-hour meeting, we talked almost exclusively about Nagano, not business.
I went to a big bookstore called "Maruzen" whcih is famous for having many foreign books before I took a bullet train for Nagano.

Would Grand Champion cup Volleyball 2009 Japan VS Egypt

Big news, I want to tell you about the results of a volleyball competition. I talked about the same topic yesterday. The Japan team won the game against the Egypt team. If they win the match against Iran today, they will probably get at least a bronze medal. Even if they lost next games against Cuba and Brazil.
For more than fifteen years, I have been completely behind the Japan team, I cried so hard when they qualified for the Beijing Olympics by winning the world volleyball final qualification for the first time in a decade.

Would Grand Champion cup Volleyball 2009 Japan VS Poland.

I would like to find someone who watched Japan versus Poland volleyball in Tokyo on TV last night i expect that no one else else who watched this game was interested in Volleyball, either. The average height of the Poland team is over 200cm; on the other hand Japan's average is only 190cm. It looked like game of adults and children.
After the Olympic games, I think the Japan national team of man is became stronger; they came from behind like underdogs. And good thing, I find they have not been making small mistkes recently and I anticipating the next Olympic games 2012 in London. In fact, we are anticipating that many tall players will perform brilliantlry in most volleyball competitions.

I'm happy about your anticipation concerning my career. I'm looking for job that involves the active application of my ERP experience. But I think it is difficult to find a suitable job in Nagano and that I would be better changing over to Tokyo.

Snow day!!

Compared to last year, this is an early time for snow. We can't see large quantities of snow this area. When I was in Tokyo, I could't find any snow so I'm looking forward to going skiing this year!! But I'll probably have and accident if I don't take care myself during the winter season. Half a decade ago, I was driving down a snowy street and eating a cream puff. I wasn't able to handle my car, finally my car skidded and smashed into a telephone pole. What's worse, the cream puff pouring down my face. I called police to take my car away, hoping they wouldn't notice my face. Ladies and gentleman who are living or will go to a snowy area, please take care when you drive!

What is an effective way to practice English?

I don't think my pracitce of English has improved recently. I've been trying to speak English in a shadowing style, which means I speak the words that I hear from native speaker. In the meantime, I would like to recommend one of the Japanese movies. It is called "General-Rouge of triumphant return" It's a suspense film that takes place in a hospital. Please visit above web site if you are interested in suspense films.

Weekend Plan!

This Saturday and Sunday, I will be in Tokyo for business. I have a meeting with Customer in the Shibashi area.
Although I have been in Tokyo for five years as of last year. I didn't go there nowadays because of how a lot of people gather in one place often.
I think that Tokyo has a lot of amusing places and is a very attaractive capital.
But if I go somewhere attactive I get so tired because I have to be there for such a long time.
It's looks like Tokyo Disney Land. I will go to a big bookstore and eat ramen before I go back.

A 30 year old man was arrested in Osaka.

A 30 year old man was arrested in Osaka when he was trying to escape from Osaka when he was trying to escape from Osaka to Okinawa. He killed a woman who was an English teacher in Chinba, Japan 2006. He underwent plastic surgery in Nagoya to escape from police. After the plastic surgery, the clinic, which performed surgery on his face, told the police and they disclosed his picture to the public. Until he was arrested, he was working at a Construction Company to save money and escape to a foreign country. I'm anticipating the result of the police's interrogation.

The tax on cigarettes versus Free highway fees(2)

What will happen if highway charges get implemented? What problems do you anticipate? First, highway bus companies will go bankrupt because we will be able to drive on the highway and pay only $10 regardless of the distance on weekends.
On the weekend, people will go sightseeing by car. So there will be a lot of traffic jams around popular tourist area. Many trucks and big buses, which they were unapplied, might have been highway long time. They might use their own car if highway charges are implemented.
As a result people will stop riding buses and bus companies will go out of business. Trucks carrying food to supermarkets might not be able to arrive quickly enough, and it will inconvenience shoppers.

The tax on cigarettes versus Free highway fee.

The Japanese government willing to implement new two tactics in order to increase revenue for the next year. They are taxes on cigarette and highway charges. My lifestyle will be changed by these two tactics. Unfortunately, I'm a smoker and I don't want the Japanese government to increase the price of cigarettes anytime soon.
Consequently, I'll have to quit. But I definitely agree that other tactics such as high way charges should not be implemented because people complain about how it is more expensive that the fees of any other country despite U.S.A and some European countries implemented the same rules about highway, the Japanese government has kept the price range the same.
However there is a problem with changing these tactics. I will tell you about this problem next time.

Car Trouble.

It was early morning, and I was trying to start my car. Ther was no response. I was able to figure our why it doesn't work. The temperature in Nagano was so cold for the past two days that it has given me some engine trouble. I had to go to my office. So I decide to go there by bicycle. Before I departed from my apartment, I called the office to say I might be a half hour.

Everyone said to e "Are you all right?", Is everthing OK wit your car? I answered that I needed to check the engine after work. I could repair it now. I changed the battery at a Gas station. I need someone who knows a lot about cars and to take care of it before I drive.

First day in Nagano.

I was just worring about communicating as new staff member. But fortunately, all current members are kind and so sincere. First we had an orientation in order to become familiar with our company and they introduced me to a new system which we're trying to sell to customers. On the first day, I just checked the new system. But this system is customizable. I will really make sure to make most of this opportunity. I'll tell you the details of the new system next time.

Snow falling.

Tomorrow, I'll be working in new place. In Nagnao Prefecture, I can see snow falling.
I think maybe it is two weeks earlier that last year. I had better turn on my heater to stave off the cold.
